Welcome to Agandi Foundation

How We Got Started

From the very beginning, the Agandi Foundation was built on a love that reached across borders and circumstances to embrace children in their darkest moments. It was founded with a single, unwavering mission—to bring light, healing, and a future to Ugandan children.
In 2016, the foundation opened as a safe haven for the children it serves. Children who had known only fear and abandonment found shelter, safety, and the warmth of a family. Since then, the Agandi Foundation has worked tirelessly to rewrite the stories of children and families in crisis. Children who were once voiceless now laugh, learn, and dream again. Every meal, every hug, every bedtime story is a testament to what love can do.

But we cannot do it alone.

Your support can change a child’s life. Your generosity can give them a future filled with possibility. You can help us continue this journey of love, hope, and transformation. We invite you to learn more about Agandi Foundation, follow our journey on social, and find out how you can get involved.

Giving That Grows Smiles

Personalized Care

We know each child’s name, story, and dream.

Led by Love

Many on our team were once orphans themselves—now they’re giving back.

Real Relationships

We work hand-in-hand with local leaders, caregivers, and volunteers.

Dignity over dependency

We walk alongside each child for the long haul, nurturing strength and self-worth.

Every Dollar Counts

Your gift goes straight to what matters—school, meals, medicine, and mentorship.

When you support us, you’re not just donating. You’re joining a family that believes every child deserves to be seen, known, and loved.

Who We Are

Every child deserves a safe, loving home where they can grow, learn, and heal. Through care and education, we nurture resilience—helping each child rise, thrive, and dream again.

Our story

The Agandi Foundation was created by Anna Maleczka – Mutambi, a Polish national who was providing volunteer support to NGOs in Uganda since 2014.
After many trips back to Uganda, Anna witnessed children who, despite deep wounds, still dared to hope; mothers who had lost everything yet kept going; and young people who had never known a system that worked for them, but still tried to build something better. Inspired by their resilience, Anna decided to pursue a new path—one that brought her closer to fulfilling her life’s calling of supporting those in need in Africa.
The Agandi Foundation was established on October 8, 2016, in response to the dramatic events that unfolded in the country that year. This was a step toward providing relief and support to children and their families.
Since then, Agandi Foundation has grown into a loving community providing safety, care, and hope to over XX children and young mothers — each carrying a past of hardship and dreams of a better future.

About our home – Mbarara

Tucked away about 300 kilometres southwest of Uganda’s capital lies the vibrant city of Mbarara—home to the Agandi Foundation. But it’s more than just a location; it’s a growing community of hope and love. Volunteers and guests from near and far come to lend their time to support the children who live at Agandi Children’s Home.
Though Mbarara is developing quickly, many families still face daily challenges. That’s where the Agandi Foundation steps in—working hard to meet the growing needs of the community and bring brighter days to the children who call this place home.
